Water therapy: water activity with therapeutic objectives.
Water therapy uses the benefits of water to enhance and develop abilities and skills transferable to daily life.
The sensory information and the facilitation of movement offered by a water environment helps to work not only motor aspects, but also others such as attention, coordination and communication.
The pool
At the Lukas Foundation we have adequate aquatic facilities designed to obtain the best results for people with functional diversity. The water temperature is always at + 32ºC without chemicals, it is maintained by saline treatment. It has spotlights to carry out chromotherapy and a constant temperature of the exterior at 29ºC with the integrated changing rooms, which means that the user does not experience temperature changes when entering/ leaving the water. It is also adapted so that anyone can access the pool from the changing table, by means of a small crane attached to the ceiling.
