Family Respite:
Fundamental support in the care and attention to the person
The care of a child with severe multiple functional diversity entails a large amount of time, fatigue and in many cases, stress for the affected family. The existence of a center that offers quality support to families not only benefits these young people with functional diversity but also their families. These families have the same needs as all families, but they face an emotional, physical and material burden, requiring more support. Although the immediate family is the main resource of support, further quality support is essential. The “Saturdays of Action” respite program that we offer in the LKF Center offers a fundamental support in the care and attention to the person with functional diversity but specifically to their relatives since it gives them some time for their social, family and work lives.
